Brad Hodges Enterprises started in October 2007 as a result of me “retiring” in April 2007, after 30 years in the mortgage business, as a top level executive for a large (billion plus volume) mortgage company in Northern California. In addition to being one of the founding members of the company I started the Marketing  and IT departments from ground zero. My last titled position was as Chief Information Officer of the company but I also was the Executive Board Member over Human Resources and Compliance when I left.

After sleeping in a lot and recovering from my 4:45 AM corporate wake-up-and-go-to-work-commute-for-1-hour-each-way routine from the past 30 years and trying to decide what I really wanted to do when I grew up, an epiphany struck me in October 2007 that I had a lot of skills; marketing, IT, web design and development and writing that I could actually put together and hopefully make a living from, as my own boss in the Internet World!

Well that chapter is still unfolding as I write but NOTHING beats my 37 foot (literally) commute from my bedroom to my well equipped home office and not having to play any more corporate games, attending endless meetings and other general B.S. you have to deal with when you work for someone else! Not to mention putting extra money in their pockets rather than your own. So I gave up $200,000 a year for the freedom, but now the pressure is all on me — the good, the bad and the ugly is ALL mine but I love it.

For fun and relaxation I travel with my 25′ RV in tow, do serious digital photography and fly fish.
